From where you are…

to where you need to be.

On-demand project management for your small business or nonprofit.

Small organizations have big ideas,

but implementing those ideas often requires an extra pair of hands along with the additional time, attention, and concentration it takes to complete projects on deadline and with a close eye on the details. I offer the on-demand project management and business improvement and routinization services you need to get things done and move from where you are to where you want to be.

What can I do for you?

From building onboarding resources to creating and managing external knowledge bases to managing recurring projects like annual events, developing and streamlining workflows, and creating reusable tools and templates, I can deliver needed resources that will help your small business or nonprofit work smarter.

Create a branded slide deck template for IGW Coaching. This small but mighty consultancy provides high-end training and executive mentorship and needed to improve its standard slide template (built in Google Slides). I researched designers, then hired and managed the designer while keeping the client up to date and in control of the final product. The client received a professional presentation template on time and at just over half the cost of the original budget, along with a style guide and list of resources. Dan Weiss says, “Engaging with On Point Project Management has been a game changer for our growing company. Amy works hard to understand our project objectives and budget, keeps tasks and communication moving and on schedule, and is a pleasure to work with. We look forward to continued collaboration!”

Turn an idea into a reality for Jewish Review of Books. On July 20, 2020, the Jewish Review of Books’s editor in chief Abraham Socher asked me, “Hey, we want to do a Zoom conversation for our readers on August 25. Can you make that happen?” Building from the ground up, the organization launched a successful event on August 25 with more than 300 attendees logging to hear Socher in conversation with a leading thinker in that space. This project involved Zoom, WordPress CMS, Mailchimp, marketing, and more. After a series of after-event meetings to make sure each subsequent JRB Conversation was an occasion to refine both the process and the event, the organization received a fully templatized system for planning and implementing all future JRB Conversation events.
Abraham Socher says, “Amy Newman Smith can juggle half a dozen different projects, while wrangling more than a dozen writers, and bring them all in on time.“
Business Partner Red Edge says, “My team was extremely fortunate to work with Amy for more than five years, over which time Amy never wavered in her commitment to project success, unrivaled attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills. It is always gratifying to collaborate with a client who’s friendly, professional, well-organized, and clear in defining expectations and responsibilities. Amy is an excellent manager of projects and personalities, ensuring work is getting done correctly, on time, and on budget without getting in the way of those doing it.”

Help a small non-profit work smarter and save money. Chaviva High School is a growing all-girls school in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. I worked with them to create a customized PTO tracking system with built-in dashboards and reporting options. By leveraging the power of Google Sheets, they got a system that meets their needs and doesn’t add a monthly SaaS fee to their budget. Principal Rochie Berkowitz says, “Having Amy as an extra set of eyes was incredibly helpful as we scale our operations to meet a growing staff and student body. Her natural skill of organizing and implementing processes has greatly enhanced our efficiency and helped set our team up for success.”
